Background checks and Drug screens are mandatory prior to placement into a clinical rotation. Reference your specific program student handbook for more information.

Students can purchase their background check, drug screen and medical tracker in one transaction. Castle Branch can transfer intra program trackers but are not able to transfer from other colleges. Students need to contact Castle Branch and request the transfer.

More Clinical Information

CPR/BLS
Students enrolled into a Health Science Program must have a current CPR/BLS certification. Most programs only accept the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider Level certification. EMS students should reference their specific program page for additional authorized organizations.

This certification is good for a period of 2 years and must be current while in your clinical rotation. Students are required to upload proof of certification in their Castle Branch Tracker.
PPSC offers BLS courses for students needing certification. Please contact, HS Advising at HSAdvising@pikespeak.edu or visit the PPSC CPR Home Page if you have additional questions.
