Phlebotomy Classes You Might Take

At PPSC, phlebotomy students will learn to acquire specimens for laboratory analysis. This may include blood draws, urinalysis, point of care testing, such as blood sugar, urine pregnancy, rapid beta strep and influenza testing.

In addition to specimen collection, phlebotomists also decide which tests can be done locally or must be transported to a laboratory for analysis.

Certificate program classes include: medical terminology, customer service in healthcare, and law & ethics in healthcare. Beginning and advanced phlebotomy techniques are completed in two separate classes.
