ATI TEAS FAQ

The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is a standardized test designed specifically to assess a student’s preparedness for entering the health science fields. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform successfully in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage. You can review additional information about the ATI TEAS, Version 7 exam, here.

ATI TEAS launched a new TEAS Version, Version 7, on June 3, 2022. All colleges/institutions will automatically switch to the new TEAS Version. The major changes are to the TEAS content area and will not affect student’s exam or scores taken before or after the transition.

ATI TEAS exams taken before June 3, 2022, will be aligned to the current TEAS 6 blueprint and exams taken on June 3rd or after will be aligned to the new TEAS version 7. The reporting scale of ATI TEAS will remain the same (0-percent to 100-percent). The national mean values are not changing. So, this means that institutions that use the national mean will not be impacted at all. PPSC use the national means for the ADN programs.

The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions that are formatted as both multiple choice items with 4 answer options and alternate-type items. This includes 150 scored questions and 20 unscored pretest questions. Students have 209 minutes to complete the exam.

For students testing on or after June 3, 2022 (ATI TEAS, Version 7), the number of questions in each content section and subsection are as follows:

  • Reading – 45 questions (55 minutes)
  • Key Ideas & Details – 15
  • Craft & Structure – 9
  • Integration of Knowledge & Ideas – 15
