Community General Educational Development (GED) Programs


While PPSC doesn't offer GED preparation classes, several trusted community programs do.  
Explore the local resources below to find the right program for you which will help you prepare for the GED examination.

Once you’ve completed your preparation classes, the PPSC Testing Center offers the GED examination. Passing the exam will earn you the GED credential.

The General Education Development (GED) is a national high school equivalency credential recognized by colleges, employers, and the military. It measures skills in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies - showing you have the knowledge of a high school graduate.

Community GED preparation programs help adults who did not finish high school prepare for the GED exam and earn their high school equivalency.

GED Preparation

While PPSC focuses on testing, several organizations in the Colorado Springs community offer GED preparation and adult education programs. These classes can help you review key subjects, build study skills, and gain confidence before scheduling your test.

Harrison School District 2 – Adult Education

Offers GED preparation and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adult learners - including in reading & writing, social studies, math, and science. 

Supportive instructors help you reach your goals in a flexible, welcoming environment.

School District 11 – Adult & Family Education

Free, in-person classes for adults working toward a high school equivalency or learning English.

Taught by certified instructors, with courses focusing on reading, writing, and math.

Students typically begin with either language arts or math and may add the other with instructor approval.

Pikes Peak Library District – Adult Education

Provides hybrid and in-person GED preparation options for adults ages 17 and older who have not earned a high school credential.

Classes combine online and face-to-face learning, supported by tutoring and digital study tools - an excellent option for independent learners who need flexibility and access to library resources.

Take the GED Test at PPSC

Prepped? Let's Earn That GED

Once you’re ready, you can take your GED test right here at Pikes Peak State College. The GED is administered on computer in a certified testing center, and our Testing Center provides a comfortable, professional environment so you can focus and do your best.

To schedule your test, create an account or login to MyGED and select Pikes Peak State College as your test site. You can take all sections at once for a total fee of $150.00, or take them one at a time for $37.50 each.
