There are a few programs that PTK has for its members to set them up for success in their academic and professional careers. These programs were designed with CTE and transfer students in mind.  

Employment EDGE is more suitable for students in the CTE Program. This helps students create resumes, learn networking, how to negotiate your salary, and learn how to build a digital footprint. It is a great tool to transition from an academic setting into employment.  

Transfer EDGE is for student who plan to transfer to a four-year college, guiding them in understanding financial aid and student loans, how to make the most of your campus visit, how to create a strong transfer application, and how to make a scholarship resume.  

Academic and leadership programs have been implemented into EDGE. Research EDGE is to help students conduct scholarly research. Though it is aimed more towards the research process for those participating in the Honors and Action project, it is beneficial to all students. You are given the best research practices, and if you are interested in the Honors in Action project, how to explore the basics and how to engage your chapters project.  

Competitive EDGE is for building your leadership skills. Focusing on soft skills alongside career panning, allows you to learn effective communication, how to best use your critical thinking and research skills, grow your emotional intelligence, gain cultural awareness, get organized, set goals, and test your professional etiquette. Having these skills are a great addition to put on a resume and to have in everyday life..  

We encourage our members to utilize these programs to better their chances in their academic and career endeavors. You can access these programs at any time, for free. Once you have accomplished a specific set of goals, you can adapt and use the program that best accommodates the stage you are in. More than $90 million in transfer scholarships to many four-year colleges and universities are available to Phi Theta Kappa members. Some two-year college scholarships include the Pearson Scholarship for Higher Ed., GEICO Pathway to Completion, and the Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Scholarship.

At the request of the member, Phi Theta Kappa headquarters will send a letter of recommendation to college admission counselors, scholarship committees, or potential employers.

Members have numerous opportunities to serve as chapter, regional, or even international officers. Leadership training is also available through seminars and conferences.
