Education: I started my education at Morgan Community College, earning my Associate of Arts Degree in Business. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 2015 and my Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education in 2017 from UCCS.

Favorite thing about Pikes Peak State: I love the fact that Pikes Peak can be for anyone. Whether you have a 4.0 GPA, need a fresh start, want to go into a trades field, or wants to earn credits to transfer, we have something for you here at Pikes Peak State College.

When not at Pikes Peak State: I am a huge nerd and love anything that has to do with Harry Potter, Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings. I like to go home after work and decompress by playing xbox. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is my favorite place in Colorado Springs.

Advice for students: Ask questions! Pikes Peak State staff and faculty are here to help you succeed, but we need you to advocate for yourself and ask questions so we can help you. You are not in this alone.

Favorite thing about Pikes Peak State: I love all the support Pikes Peak offers our students! No matter your situation or circumstances, Pikes Peak has or can find a way to help you achieve your goals.

When not at Pikes Peak State: I would rather be outdoors! I like camping, biking, jogging, and hiking. I hope to hike all of Colorado's 14ers one day! If I'm not outside, you might find me reading historical fiction novels or eating ice cream.

Advice for students: Don't give up on your goals. You may have to take weekend or night classes, take a semester off, or ask for additional support from Pikes Peak, but keep working toward your dreams. It will be worth it!

Education: I graduated from Pikes Peak State College in 2024 with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration along with two certificates in Bookkeeping and Accounting. Now, I am continuing my education at UCCS for a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance.

Favorite thing about Pikes Peak: I absolutely love the community that PPSC has to offer. From seeing the student perspective to working here - the students, staff, and faculty have a strong bond. I love seeing the interactions students have with each other and seeing the support staff offer to students is amazing.

When not at Pikes Peak: I love to play video games with friends on Discord or watching anime. If I am wanting to go out for a night of fun, I absolutely love dancing Huapangos and Cumbias with friends and families, and recently learning line dancing! That, or I'm doom-scrolling on TikTok.

Advice for students: Please use the resources offered to you, don't be afraid to ask questions, and throw yourself out there to new challenges. As a first-gen student myself, I understand the struggles of navigating college. However, PPSC has helped me in so many ways because of the resources offered and the activities that happen on campus!

Meet Our Student Ambassadors

PPSC Student Ambassador Jackson Brebner

Hello! I'm a studio art major here at PPSC and I plan to transfer to UCCS. I decided to become an ambassador to get myself out of my comfort zone, and my favorite thing about PPSC is how kind and ready to help everyone is. My advice for other students is to not set yourself up for failure! For example, if you know you're not a morning person, don't take morning classes (if possible, of course)!

PPSC Student Ambassador Desirae Reyes

I'm Desirae and my areas of study are Phlebotomy and an Associate in General Studies. I love reading, and I want to go to Ireland at least once in my life. I hope to help more people reach their goals and learn more about their school! My favorite thing about PPSC is the variety of things we offer, from programs to clubs. My advice to others is to be as informed as possible! Try to learn everything you can about what you want to do and what you want to learn.

PPSC Student Ambassador Allie Watts

Hi there! I'm Allie and my major is Associates of Applied Science in Medical Assisting. I'm starting at PPSC and planning to transfer to Pueblo Community College and attend their Sonography program. After college I want to work in a private practice as an ultrasound tech! I love the PPSC environment. My biggest advice to new students is to get involved!

Anissa Lujan

I'm a Paralegal Major and I plan on going to Law School in the future. I want to work in Native American Law and Environmental Law. I wrote a novella called "Last Trip to Salida" and currently feel really accomplished about that. A piece of advice I give others is to get out there and join some clubs! Find your people! My favorite thing about PPSC is how inviting the community is here.

Gavlin Barlow

AAS -Multimedia design! Future plans for more media or history route! I’m starting to love the process of learning! Lifelong commitment for this!I love to race in automotive events! I love to lead and organize and help people and groups make it to end goals! Cars are my passion! Capturing feelings and energy in video form is top tier for me! The fact I can be a collective in a group setting really is different and new to me! I love it very much! If you have the opportunity please take it!

Maddy Netzler

I am a nursing major, and after college, I plan to become a travel nurse and explore new places. My favorite place in Colorado Springs is Old Colorado City- I love the small shops and local restaurants. I became a student ambassador because I want to help support others since I didn't have guidance at first. College can be tough, but there's always help available if you know where to look.My favorite thing about PPSC is the welcoming community and the support the students receive.

Samaria Eberflus

Hello! I am a business major, planning to transfer to pursue marketing and project management. I enjoy connecting with and helping others start with their academic journey! My goal is to grow as a leader and build a future where I can bring creative ideas to life with passion and curiosity. One piece of advice I give other students is to focus on what you can control and not stress over what you can't. College comes with challenges, but progress happens when you take things one step at a time.
