The Surgical Technology Program prepares you for an exciting career in a wide range of surgical settings, offering opportunities in hospital operating rooms, sterile processing, labor and delivery, ophthalmology, cardiovascular, plastics, orthopedics and many other specialties.
Students who successfully complete the PPSC Surgical Technology Program are able to than sit for the National Certification Exam for Surgical Technology given by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). You can practice under the credentials of Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) upon passing the exam.
Job Types
Surgical Technologists have many different job titles such as scrub tech, operating
room technician, surgical assistant or instrument technician. This is a very diverse
job that does many tasks across the patient care setting.
