Advanced Energy Service Center Scholarship Program

Advanced Energy (AE) enables design breakthroughs and drives growth for leading semiconductor and industrial customers. Our precision power and control technologies, along with our applications know-how, inspire close partnerships and perpetual innovation in thin-film and industrial manufacturing.

The purpose of AE's Service Center Scholarship Program is to generate a pipeline of talent and offer opportunities to individuals looking to begin careers in the technical field of electronics manufacturing and repair.

Who is eligible?

High school graduates or military veterans considering a technical community college as well as current first year and second year technical community college students are eligible.

How do I apply?

Please email careers@aei.com with the subject line "AE Service Center Scholarship Program". Provide you name, location, current year in school (if applicable), and current or prospective technical school (if known). You will then receive further instructions for completing the application. As part of the application, be prepared to submit the following:

  • Transcripts and current GPA
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Resume
  • Short essay response

What happens after I apply?

AE Service Management will conduct interviews with applicants at the various schools to evaluate and select final students who will be offered a place in the Program.

What are the terms of the program?

  • Student must have a High School Diploma.
  • Student must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a 2 year technical program with the focus on attaining an Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent. (Equivalent programs will be evaluated and approved by AE in advance.)
  • Student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout the 2 year degree program.
  • Student must be willing and able to work full-time (40 hours per week) as an AE Intern during the summer months in between school, as applicable.
  • Student’s performance will be reviewed upon completion of the internship period for evaluation of continued participation in the Program.
  • Student must graduate and receive Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent form an AE approved accredited technical community college.
  • Student must be willing and able to relocate to Fort Collins, CO / Northern Colorado area within one month after graduation.

What will I received if I am selected for the program?

Students selected for the Program will receive the following, subject to meeting all the terms noted above.

  • Paid Internship at AE Fort Collins headquarters in the summers between schooling. Internships are paid at $15.00 per hour.
  • Subsidized housing may be provided for those who live 60+ miles away from Fort Collins, CO. Otherwise, housing is not provided and will be the responsibility of the student.
  • Job offer upon graduation for full-time position as a Test Technician at AE. Test Technician roles start at approximately $20.00 per hour.
  • Degree Reimbursement Bonus in the amount of $10,000 - 20,000 (gross) to reimburse the cost of a 2 year Associate’s Degree program.
  • $10,000 when selected as a second year student, and $20,000 when selected as a first year student.
  • Degree Reimbursement Bonus is payable on the first available payroll cycle following the start of employment in the new position.
