Medical Receptionist or Medical Coding Classes You Might Take

You will also learn electronic medical records, medical records abstraction for diagnosis, billing procedures, appointment scheduling, medical office finances, introduction to medical office management, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. 

class 1

Introduces the anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and drug therapy of the immune, musculoskeletal, and digestive systems. A discussion of pediatric implications as they relate to clinical physiology will also be covered. The scope of the material is limited to the medical office technology personnel.

class 2

Provides hands on experience with the basic clinical skills required for assisting with patient care in an ambulatory setting.

class 3

Outlines the rules and principles of medical records in ambulatory care settings. Topics will include hard copy and electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR), records retention, release of information, HIPAA, and other legal topics relating to patient records. Data entry into EMR exercises will be included.

Zero-Cost for Some Medical Programs

Many certificate programs within Medical Sciences are now available at zero cost, thanks to Care Forward Colorado. Students in these programs get free tuition, fees, books, materials and necessary vaccinations. Any other financial aid could be used on top of that for living expenses, technology needs, or other related costs.
