Degree Type: Associate of Arts Degree, AA
Pathway: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Put your creativity to work! Art is a versatile concept that applies to many career fields. Studying art at PPSC can start you on a path in fine art, education, communication, or other liberal arts fields. It can also help you become an artist or prepare for graduate school. Recent graduates have transferred to top universities and found jobs in galleries, museums, art councils, or as studio artists. We offer two options for an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Art: Art History or Studio Art.
What is Studio Art?
Studio Art focuses on creating art, understanding how art is made, and finding your
place in society. As a Studio Art student, you can take courses in color theory, ceramics,
drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, two-dimensional design, and three-dimensional
design.
The Degree with Designation is designed for transfer to another college or university as a step toward a bachelor’s degree. For more information on transferring after PPSC, visit our transfer webpage or meet with your advisor.
Voices of PPSC
I [took a jewelry making class] mainly to keep my sanity, because of all of the other classes. I took a sample class and realized how much I liked it.
