James Snyder, a PPSC student in the Building and Construction Technology program,
won first place for post-secondary institutions in the nationwide "I BUILT THIS"
video contest supported by The National Center for Construction Education and Research
(NCCER).

The "I BUILT THIS" video contest is designed to promote the value of craft skills
and construction as an industry of choice. It also provides an opportunity to showcase
outstanding construction projects, from the perspective of trainees, secondary and
post-secondary students and instructors, on a national platform.
This is an especially meaningful recognition for Snyder. As a retired veteran, having
served 11 years in the U.S. Army, James recently transitioned from military to civilian
life. He discovered renewed purpose through the study and skill development required
in the PPSC Masonry program.
"PPSC’s Building and Construction program is designed to give students practical skills that allow them to get to work quickly in a field that continues to grow by leaps and bounds," said Bill Carroll, PPSC masonry instructor. "James is well on his way to becoming a very talented mason and will be a great asset to any company in the Springs area that hires him."
