Gaspar Abeyta
Grew up in the San Luis Valley. My native language is Spanish.
My ancestors came to New Mexico in 1598 with don Juan de Oñate.
Did student teaching at Center High School in Center, Colorado. First teaching job was at Eisenhower Junior High School in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Next was South Junior High School in Colorado Springs and Russell Middle School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I have also taught at UCCS as an honorarium and at Pikes Peak Community as an adjunct professor of Spanish.
In the public schools, Spanish, American Studies, Colorado History, and Economics. At UCCS and PPSC, Spanish 101, Spanish 111, Spanish 211 and 212.
