Janet Brugger has a B.S. in Social and Behavioral Sciences and a M.S. in HR Management and Organizational Development from University of Maryland. Mrs. Brugger became an adjunct instructor at Pikes Peak in 2017 and is an instructor in the Business and Economics Department and Pre-College Program at Colorado College.
Mrs. Brugger has also served in administrative positions at Lamar University, Lamar Institute of Technology (Beaumont, TX) and University of the Rockies (Colorado Springs and Denver). Outside of teaching Mrs. Brugger is a business consultant and has developed and delivered seminars and workshops for multiple businesses and organizations in Colorado Springs, including currently serving as Lead Business Navigator/Quality Jobs Program Manager (contract) for Colorado Enterprise Fund.
Mrs. Brugger served two terms (4 years) as President of the Colorado Springs Black Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the boards of Joint Initiatives for Youth and Families (Governance Committee Chair), Early Connections Learning Centers (Business and Strategic Planning Committees) and serves on the Early Childhood Education Business Council.
Appointed to serve on the National Small Business Association Leadership Council Economic
Policy Committee as an advocate for minority and women-owned small businesses (2022).
Selected as Inaugural Member of ForbesBLK , a global community of exceptional leaders
of color that break down barriers to a create more equitable economies, and drive
a new culture of connections, collaboration, and change (2024).
Co-Chair and Facilitator of Early Childhood Business Council (ECBC) Summit. The ECBC
(a joint initiative of Pikes Peak United Way, Joint Initiatives for Youth and Families,
El Pomar Foundation, and Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and EDC) was created
in 2023 to stress the ROI that quality preschool education has on early childhood
development and to gain support from the business community to address the shortfall
of seats and providers in early childhood education (2024).
Certificate of Appreciation and recognition on the Wall of Tolerance in Montgomery, AL for taking a stand against hatred, racism, and intolerance in higher education.
