Ms. Breitbeil earned a master’s in business administration with an emphasis in Accounting
from UCCS. While earning her degree, she worked gaining experience at the Schlage
Lock Corporation (now Ingersoll-Rand Security Technologies) and at a local not-for-profit,
the Sisters of St. Francis. She was promoted to Director of Accounting for the Sisters
of St. Francis and then Operations Manager at Biotest Laboratories, a local manufacturing
firm upon completing her degree.
For her, it is important to remain active in the accounting community and to teach
and learn as she moves through her career. In the pursuit of this, she was active
in many roles including the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Institute
of Internal Auditors' board of directors. She served as President of the local chapter
of the IMA and as a Global Board member for the IMA. She currently serves on the Stuart
Cameron McLeod Society Board of Governors as the Chair of the Student and Scholarship
Committee.
Ms. Breitbeil began teaching at Regis University as a Cost Accounting instructor in
2015 and she started teaching at PPSC in 2017. It was an honor when, in 2020, she
was offered a full-time faculty position. She has held a Certified Management Accountant
(CMA) credential since 2010 and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) credential since
2012.
