FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PPSC and CPCD Celebrate Ribbon-Cutting for Newly Remodeled Playground at Centennial Campus Colorado Springs, CO — March 12, 2026 — Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) and CPCD (Community Partnership for Child Development)...giving children a head start will host a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly remodeled playground outside the Early Childhood Education Center at the Centennial Campus on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 10:15am. The media is invited to attend as both organizations celebrate their shared commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education in the Pikes Peak region.

“For many families, finding affordable and trusted childcare can be one of the biggest challenges they face,” says Dr. Stacie Datteri, President and CEO at CPCD. “Our collaboration with PPSC allows us to expand access and provide children with a strong start in a supportive learning environment.”

The partnership between CPCD and PPSC directly addresses the need for affordable, high-quality childcare that can be difficult to secure for many families in the state. Together, the organizations provide a safe, nurturing and education-focused environment where children can thrive while parents pursue work or higher education. The newly remodeled playground strengthens that commitment by creating an engaging outdoor space that supports physical development, creativity and social interaction.

“High-quality early childhood education lays the foundation for lifelong learning,” says Donna Nelson, Chief Development Officer at PPSC Foundation. “By partnering with CPCD, we are helping ensure that families in our community have access to reliable, enriching childcare while also supporting students who are preparing for careers in education and human services.”

The ribbon-cutting highlights how these two entities work together to meet a critical community need while reinforcing their shared mission of opportunity, access and student success. Guests can expect a short program and a tour of the Early Childhood Center. Media will have opportunities for photos of the new playground, the formal ribbon-cutting and the Early Childhood Development Center facility and interviews with CPCD following the ceremony.
