Background

Carol J Parker
M.A., University of Birmingham, UK
M.L.S., Fort Hays State University

I have been teaching literature and composition for nearly 30 years, the last 13 of those years at Pikes Peak. I have a bachelor's in English Education, a Master of Liberal Studies in Literature, and Master of Arts in Shakespeare from the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Shakespeare Studies from the Institute.

I am married, and my husband Steve and I have four kids, two of which are college graduates trying their best to be real grown-ups. Our third is a senior in high school this year, and the baby of the family is in seventh grade. We have a dog (Murphy) and two Guinea pigs (Fred and George). We have lived in Colorado Springs for more than 25 years, but I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I love to travel and read, and my family and I have been to many places around the globe.

I love teaching, and I adore literature (especially Shakespeare).
