The PPSC Campus Police Department is here to support you at our Centennial, Rampart Range, Downtown, and CHES locations. Our team includes sworn law enforcement officers and an emergency management professional, all working to help make your experience at PPSC safe and pleasant.

Our officers respond to crimes in progress as well as past incidents. They investigate criminal activity and traffic matters, provide safety escorts and motorist assistance, manage after-hours access, and patrol PPSC locations to help keep students, employees, and visitors safe.

We encourage you to partner with Campus Police by reporting suspicious activity, crimes, or safety hazards on or near campus. When you share information with us, it helps us respond quickly and to prevent future incidents.

As Colorado-certified peace officers, we also work closely with neighboring law enforcement agencies, including the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Springs Police Department, and the Colorado State Patrol. We are happy to assist if you need help connecting with one of these agencies.

Our personnel are in direct radio communication with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch. Feel free to approach any member of our team if you need assistance. If we cannot help directly, we will connect you with someone who can.

Please contact our office if you have questions or comments about the Campus Police Department.

Vision
Our history has been and our future is to be the State Leader in Community College Policing.
Mission

To provide community-oriented solutions, communication, and services at Pikes Peak State College.

Goals
To establish a working relationship with the campus community. To establish a working relationship with all surrounding Emergency Responder agencies to ensure a safer community on and around the campuses. To increase proficiency and efficiency of campus police force, in order to provide the best possible public safety services to the College community.
Pikes Peak State College Campus Police Department, along with the rest of the College, is active in promoting the recognition of diversity in the college community and in the Campus Police Department itself.

To that end, the department has a Diversity Plan outlining various strategies and programs to be undertaken over the course of several years.

Department Statement on Diversity
  • The Campus Police Department recognizes that diversity, the differences between people, exists as a driving force in our interactions with people and institutions in the college community.
  • We also recognize that the people in our community predicate our authority, and ultimately, our institutional existence. In order to provide the highest quality of police service, we must be committed to the recognition and reflection of that diversity and incorporate the realities of diverse people into our strategic planning and our day-to-day operations.
  • Moreover, the Campus Police Department is committed to the belief that there is an intrinsic worth in all people, an irreducible quality whose protection and benefit is the basis for police service.
  • We believe that the recognition of diversity is no less than the recognition of this worth. A commitment to honor the rights and provide for the needs of all people equally is our expression of this recognition.
The Campus Police Department has established a Complaint and Commendation Form for the purpose of collecting feedback to improve our community service and to recognize outstanding performance by department members.

Step 1: Please complete the Complaint and Commendation Form available in the Campus Police Forms section of the website and forward it to the PPSC Corporal.
Step 2: Upon receipt of a complaint or commendation, the Corporal will review the complaint or commendation.
Step 3: Commendations will be referred to that officer’s immediate supervisor. Complaints will be reviewed to determine if they warrant an internal affairs investigation (for allegations of serious misconduct) or a member misconduct investigation (for allegations of non-serious misconduct).
Step 4: When the Complaint and Commendation form is received, you will be notified at the address you provided on the form. You will also be notified of the disposition of the investigation.
