My career began in my native town of Trinidad, Colorado. I opened my own cake shop at the age of 18 teaching myself the art of cake decorating. Wanting to learn more, I completed a three-year apprenticeship program at the Broadmoor Hotel. This gave me the opportunity to work at multiple hotels and resorts on the east coast. Upon moving back to Colorado Springs I was fortunate enough to be asked to each culinary classes at Pikes Peak State College. I serve as the Culinary Arts Department Chair.
