Joy L. Shields, DBA, is a marketing strategist, researcher, and educator focused on consumer behavior and how people engage with products and brands in both physical and digital environments.
She holds an MBA in Marketing and an MS in Project Management and brings industry experience developing data-driven marketing strategies and consumer insights for leading brands. Her work centers on turning complex information into clear, actionable decisions.
At Pikes Peak State College, Dr. Shields teaches business courses with an emphasis on real-world application, critical thinking, and career readiness. She has taught in global settings, including executive MBA programs and experiential, field-based courses abroad, and brings those perspectives directly into the classroom.
She values continuous learning and encourages students to stay curious, think critically, and connect what they learn to how decisions are made in today’s marketplace.
