Background

Gary is originally from Michigan where he taught for Baker College for over 30 years.  At Baker College, he taught in various areas:  Management, Leadership, Marketing, Human Resources, Business Law, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Economics, and Political Science.  There he served as Program Director, full-time faculty, part-time online instructor, and system representative for the Business Department.  He joined the PPSC Business Department in the fall of 2021 as full-time faculty.  He currently is teaching sections of Intro to Business and Legal Environment in Business classes and is co-department chair for the Business Department.

Gary holds two bachelor’s degrees from Aquinas College. One is a BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) and the other is a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Political Science with a history minor.  He attended Western Michigan University, where he obtained 36 graduate credit hours in the field of Political Science.  He is a graduate of Baker College with an MBA in Leadership. He also has held a Michigan Real Estate Salesperson license as well as a Secondary Education teaching license from the State of Michigan.

Professional Experience

Gary's background is in property management.  Working in the family business for 15 years, he served as an Executive Manager overseeing the daily operations of three separate rental property companies.  During that time, he also received several certifications from the National Center for Housing Management:  COS designation (Certified Occupancy Specialist), R.A.D.A.R. (reduction of alcohol and drug awareness in the workplace), and S.T.A.R. (certification in FmHA 515 housing).  In addition, Gary held a Michigan Real Estate Salesperson license for 27 years.
