Pikes Peak State College Honors Veterans with Week-long Celebration Across Campuses
Colorado Springs, CO — November 3, 2025 — Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) will host its annual weeklong Veterans Day Celebration from November 4–14, featuring events across multiple campuses to honor service members, veterans and their families. The celebration invites the entire PPSC community and the public to take part in remembrance, education and gratitude activities that underscore PPSC’s proud legacy of supporting the military and veteran community in its academic achievement. 

“This week is about honoring the courage, sacrifice and service of our military-connected students, staff and community members,” says Marah Armijo, Student Success Coordinator of Military and Veterans Programs. “PPSC has deep roots in supporting veterans and these events reflect our ongoing commitment to those who have served.”

Campus Displays of Honor | Now–Nov. 14
Across PPSC campuses, students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in three special displays recognizing the service and legacy of veterans.

Altar Display | Centennial, MVP Lounge
In observance of Día de los Muertos, students are encouraged to bring a photo of a late service member for joyful remembrance.

Field of Flags | Nov. 4–6 | 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Join the college-wide tribute by placing a flag in honor of service members.

Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame Photo Display | Nov. 6–14 | Centennial & Rampart
Celebrate women veterans and leaders who have shaped Colorado’s history. The keynote speaker at this year’s wreath laying ceremony is Ms. Gail Colvin, USAF Veteran/retiree and the newest inductee (2024) to the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame.

This annual ceremony serves as a collective time of reflection honoring all who served.The keynote speaker this year is Ms. Gail Colvin, USAF Veteran/retiree and the newest inductee (2024) to the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame. The Native American Student Alliance (NASA) at PPSC is partnering with PPSC’s Military and Veteran’s Programs (MVP) to acknowledge military members. Margo Condon, a Native American Army Veteran will represent Native Military members during the ceremony. 

Veteran Voices
Veterans Day Presentation Series | Nov. 13, 1–3 pm | Rampart Campus
This is a moving speaker series featuring veterans, military-affiliated faculty and community members sharing stories of service and reflection.

Virtual & Accessible Ways to Participate
For those unable to attend on-campus events, PPSC offers meaningful ways to honor and engage virtually.

Over 30 percent of PPSC’s student body is military-affiliated, including active-duty service members, veterans and family members. PPSC is home to two military education centers.
