At PPSC, our small class sizes and high-quality classroom experiences will put you on a path to success. You will work closely with an Advisor to identify your goals and plan your degree to meet your needs and those of the school where you plan to transfer. Because of the varied requirements of different university engineering programs, it is strongly recommended that students plan a program of study with an engineering advisor prior to or during the first term of study.

At PPSC, students can prepare for a rewarding engineering career by completing the first two years of engineering coursework and earning an Associate of Engineering Science degree. In this program you will learn about different fields of engineering, and you will have opportunities to connect with industry to begin building engineering experience for your resume and career field. Our courses are aligned with the engineering programs of most Colorado public universities to ensure a smooth transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering. We currently offer one engineering track: Mechanical Engineering.
Presents the fundamental principles of engineering methodologies with integration of concepts in a laboratory setting. This course focuses on collaboration in the engineering design process while developing scientific and engineering related projects with a focus on professional communication in engineering.
Explores fundamental concepts and basic theory, including first and second laws of thermodynamics, properties, states, thermodynamic functions, cycles, mixtures, and chemical and phase equilibrium.
Provides students with opportunities to engage with an industry client on a real-world, open-ended engineering design problem. Students will develop professional skills and knowledge using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) as a primary tool. The course covers human-centered design and the role of engineering in a sustainable society. Students will cultivate an understanding of the differences in engineering disciplines while working in interdisciplinary teams. Written and verbal communication skills will also be covered.
