Why Take ENG Composition?

The mission of ENG Composition is to engage students needing to develop in aspects of critical reading, critical thinking, and writing processes to prepare them for success in college-level English courses.

The English Department, housed in the Division of Mathematics and English, offers ENG Composition (ENG 0094) course to help students excel in their co-requisite English Composition I (ENG 1021) class.

A student thinking

What will I study?

The decision to enroll in college and continue your academic journey is an exciting time! Most all programs require an ENG course.  Our department meets students wherever they are in their academic journey and helps them succeed.

 You will learn:

  • To read and understand complex materials
  • To understand the importance of audience and purpose in your writing
  • To find credible resources to support your arguments
  • To share your voice, creativity, and experience in writing

We offer ENG 0094 which is a co-requisite class paired with English 1021 (ENG 1021). This means ENG 0094 needs to be taken concurrently with ENG 1021. Please note, you may not need this class depending on your test scores or previous course work.
