Welcome to the Computer Lab!

ITSS computer labs at the Downtown Studio, Rampart Range, and Centennial campuses are available for students, faculty, and staff with preference given to currently enrolled students.

General Policies

General Policies

  • A student ID is required to check-out equipment.
  • One Computer per Student.
  • Individuals suspected of being intoxicated (Drugs or Alcohol) will be reported to Public Safety.
  • No Profanity Please!
  • Do not share your password with anyone. You are responsible for anything that occurs while you are logged in on your account.
  • NO DOWNLOADING SOFTWARE and/or installing files without appropriate authorization.
  • No Cell Phones. Please either turn off or set your cell phones to vibrate.
  • Save Early, Save Often; your work depends on it. 
  • Lab assistants are here to help, not tutor. Tutors are available through the division that offers the class.
  • Please USE PRINT PREVIEW to avoid unnecessary print jobs.
  • Please show respect for those trying to concentrate by keeping the noise down.
  • Before leaving go to start, log off. If you do not do this then other students will have access to your account, files on your personal drive, and your printing allowance.
  • Please push in your chair every time you leave the lab or your workstation.
  • Throw away all trash from your work area.
  • The computer lab is not responsible for your personal belongings.
  • Hacking is a serious offense and will be treated as such. The police will be involved in any hacking incident.
  • DELIBERATE ATTEMPTS TO DISRUPT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE OR THE COLLEGE’S NETWORK ARE CRIMINAL OFFENSES PUNISHABLE UNDER STATE AND FEDERAL LAW.

Computer Lab Policies

All data contained on Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) computer systems is owned by PPSC, and may be monitored, intercepted, recorded, read, copied, captured, and/or disclosed in any manner by authorized PPSC personnel.

THERE IS NO RIGHT OR EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY ON ANY PPSC SYSTEM.

Systems personnel may give to law enforcement officials or PPSC management personnel any information that constitutes potential evidence of criminal action or violation of PPSC policy taking place on any PPSC system. The user understands that said information may result in criminal proceedings or administrative actions taken against the user.

All Computing facilities should be used in an ethical, legal and efficient manner consistent with the mission of Pikes Peak State College. Acceptable uses support learning and teaching at the college. Refer to Standard of Conduct (PPSC Policy E-714.0) for more details. Deliberate attempts to disrupt system performance, the college's network and/or an external network are criminal offenses punishable under state and federal law.

I will not use college computer, equipment and/or network for the following purposes:

  1. Knowingly spreading computer viruses;
  2. Printing materials (including information from the Internet, graphics, photos, etc.) for personal use and not related to a class assignment;
  3. Sending harassing, intimidating and/or threatening messages;
  4. Re-posting personal communications without the author's consent;
  5. Copying protected material in violation of copyright law;
  6. Downloading any type of audio, video, or graphic file without appropriate authorization.
  7. Using the network for financial gain, commercial activity, or illegal activity;
  8. Accessing the network using another individual's account;
  9. Downloading software and/or loading software without appropriate authorization;
  10. Any other attempt to compromise the network integrity.

Information For Students

You can access your student email from the myPPSC portal.*

Your login information is available on the myPPSC login page. For details on how to activate and access your student email review the document below. To

forward emails from your student account to your primary email account follow the email forwarding instructions.

  • Please note:
    • If you have Windows XP installed on your computer, and are using Internet Explorer 6, you will need to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer. You may download and install Internet Explorer 8 from Microsoft's web site.
    • If you have Microsoft Office 2003 installed on your computer, and you are using Outlook to access your student email, you will need to upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007, 2010, or later for this functionality to continue to work. Your local IT department or bookstore can provide you with information on discounted pricing available to you for Microsoft Office.
  • If you have Windows XP installed on your computer, and are using Internet Explorer 6, you will need to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer. You may download and install Internet Explorer 8 from Microsoft's web site.

Forwarding Student Mail to Your Personal Email Account

  1. In Outlook (on Office 365), select See All Options from the Options drop down bar (upper right corner).
  2. Click on the Connected Accounts tab (near top of page).
  3. In the Forwarding section, enter your personal email address in the “Forward my email to:’ field, then click on the Start Forwarding button, then click on the Save button.

Note: If your Office 365 email account becomes full, forwarding will not work. Therefore, it is important to log on to your Office 365 email account periodically to manage the size of your account by deleting unwanted email messages. Syncing Student Email to Your Mobile Phone

  1. In Outlook (on Office 365), select See All Options from the Options drop down bar (upper right corner).
  2. Select Phone from the left column.
  3. Click on ‘configure the phone to synchronize with Microsoft Exchange’ link.
  4. Click on ‘Mobile Phone Setup Wizard’ link (found in the middle of the page).
  5. Choose your ‘mobile phone operating system’ from the drop down bar.
  6. Select from the ‘What would you like to do’ drop down bar.
  7. Print the instructions by clicking on the ‘print’ link (upper left).

  1. Open a browser window and type in the URL: print.ppcc.edu. This will open the Equitrac Express Web Client.
  2. Log in using your S# (S00000000) as the username, and the last four digits of your S# as the password.
  3. Click on the blue letters “User Dashboard.”
  4. Along the top of the page, you will see the following:

  • Primary PIN: This is your S#
  • Default billing code: This is blank
  • Total balance: This is your current remaining funds
    • At the beginning of each semester, you will start with a $25.00 balance​​​e

Online payments require a Credit or Debit Card, while cash payments can be completed at the Bookstore.

  1. To pay online, log into a computer on campus and go to the website: print.ppcc.edu 
  2. Log in using your S#(S00000000) as the username, and the last four digits of your S# as the password.
  3. Click on “Deposit.”
  4. Click on PayPal – you do not need a PayPal account to add funds.
  5. Type the amount your want to add, accept the PayPal policy by selecting the check box, and click on the “Pay with Debit or With Credit Card” or, if you prefer to pay using PayPal, log in.
    • NOTE: Any funds not used by the end of the current semester WILL NOT ROLL OVER into the next semester.
  6. Complete the payment by following the instruction on the screen.

  2. Select the desired option from launcher on the left-hand side of the login screen:
    • “Follow – You Printing” (you will only have access to your printed jobs).
    • “Scan – to – Me” (used for canning and emailing documents to your student email).
    • “Enable Copier” (used for making copies).
  3. Log into the printer by swiping your student ID or using your S#(S00000000) as the username and the last four digits of your S# as the password.
  4. By default, jobs are printed black and white, one sided.
    • This must be changed from the computer, not the printer.
  5. When completed touch “log out” to keep your printing allowance secure. 
  • “Follow – You Printing” (you will only have access to your printed jobs).
  • “Scan – to – Me” (used for canning and emailing documents to your student email).
  • “Enable Copier” (used for making copies).

Information for Faculty & Staff

Information for Faculty & Staff About Billing Codes

The term Billing Code is the printing system corresponding to the Org. Number in Banner. Users with more than one billing code will be asked to select the billing code to charge for the print. The printing system provides a magnifying lens icon to review the billing codes assigned to the user. Ask your supervisor which billing code to use if you are uncertain. Users with one billing code will not be prompted with the magnifying lens.

  1. Go to any MFP (Multi-Function Printer)

Each copier will have a label showing a QR code and URL. Scan the QR code with your phone or visit the URL to access a video with detailed instructions specific to the vendor and model of the printer you are using.
