Medical Sciences

The Medical Sciences Division is a newly created division at PPSC which was formerly a part of the Health and Sciences Division.  This new division is working to meet the PPSC mission of providing high quality healthcare educational opportunities to all with a focus on student success and community needs.  The Medical Sciences Division (MS) is currently comprised of 12 departments.

Students in the Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), phlebotomy technician, pharmacy technician, medical assisting, and dental assisting programs can now get free tuition, fees, books, materials and necessary vaccinations. Any other financial aid could be used on top of that for living expenses, technology needs, or other related costs.

Clinical Office Assistant Certificate Program

Whether you want to work in a physician's office or in a hospital outpatient clinic, the potential to obtain either a certification or degree is right here. You can work in the clinical areas with direct patient care and/or office administration.

Dental Assisting Associates of Applied Science Certificate Program

PPSC prepares students for employment as chair-side dental assistants in a variety of clinical settings. Our graduates are eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board CDA Exam.

Emergency Medical Technician Certificate Program

At PPSC, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) students will learn to provide emergency medical care to sick or injured patients in a safe and accurate manner.

Medical Assistant

A degree or certificate in Medical Assisting will provide you with a solid skill-set to become a vital member of the healthcare profession. At PPSC Medical Assistant students will learn to assist with clinical and administrative functions as employees within the healthcare field.

Medical Coding Specialist

Medical Coders review patient information for preexisting conditions,, assign a appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes for patient care and billing purposes. They may advance into the area of Cancer Registrars who also review patient records and reports for accuracy and assign classification codes to represent the diagnosis and treatment of cancers and benign tumors.

Medical Receptionist

Medical Receptionists may work in a hospital, outpatient clinic or a doctor's office, the potential to obtain a certification is right here. Specialize in obtaining information for medical records as well as maintaining quality and security in both paper and electronic systems. You may take simple medical histories, initiate referrals to specialist, confirm insurance coverage and process insurance payments.
